Calibration
Guided setup for accurate inspections
The Optysys setup wizard walks operators through a step-by-step calibration process. From GRBL axis configuration to zoom-level regression, every parameter is tuned for your specific hardware setup.
Setup Wizard
Step-by-step hardware configuration
The multi-step setup wizard guides new installations through every calibration parameter. Jog controls are available within the wizard for real-time adjustments.
- GRBL CalibrationCalibrate steps-per-mm for X, Y, and Z axes. Configure maximum travel limits and soft limits for safe operation.
- Homing SetupConfigure homing routines with limit switch polling. Establish a reliable reference position for repeatable inspections.
- Work Area DefinitionSet the XY work area dimensions to match your physical inspection area. Coordinates are automatically bounded.
- Zoom CalibrationPolynomial and logarithmic regression analysis maps zoom levels to field-of-view dimensions for precise measurements.
Mathematical Calibration
Regression analysis for precision
Optysys uses MathNet.Numerics to fit calibration curves that map zoom levels to real-world dimensions. These curves are calculated automatically from calibration data arrays and stored in the configuration.
- Polynomial RegressionConfigurable-degree polynomial fitting for width and height vs. zoom level calibration curves.
- Logarithmic RegressionLog-based fitting for zoom calibration curves with inverse calculation support.
- Newton's MethodIterative root-finding for inverse calculations -- determine zoom level from desired field-of-view.
Calibrate once, inspect with confidence
After initial calibration, all parameters are persisted in the application configuration. Recalibration is only needed if the hardware setup changes. The regression data is automatically loaded on startup and used throughout the inspection workflow.
